You don't have to look far to see their commitment by trying to get legislators to understand why there is a need for gun control.Others are determined to help save the planet by doing battle on behalf of climate change. Recently, the voices of 16 young people were heard when they challenged their state's pro-fossil fuel policies. LOUIS - A man was found dead Saturday morning after crews he found that he had drowned inside a Carondelet Park pond.Officers responded to a call around 8:15 a.m. at the park, where a 22-year-old man was last seen swimming inside the pond. After going under the water, the man never reappeared. A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Aurora early Sunday morning, according to the police department.The crash happened on Chambers Road near East 38th Avenue at about 1:30 a.m., according to the police department. The driver of a Ford F-250 truck was driving south on Chambers Road when the vehicle struck an Infinity I30 sedan that was making a left turn from the Interstate 70 off-ramp onto Chambers Road.The truck broadsided the sedan, killing the sedan’s driver. The truck then went off the road and down an embankment. The truck’s driver and a passenger, both men, survived with minor injuries.Aurora police Sgt. Faith Goodrich said in a news release that “intoxication” may have contributed to the crash. The investigation is ongoing. A pedestrian was reportedly killed by a semi-trailer on Highway 101 in San Jose late Saturday night in a collision being investigated as a hit and run.The California Highway Patrol received reports of a big rig colliding with a pedestrian near Tully Road at 11:37 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 36-year-old man lying dead in the Highway 101 northbound slow lane. The man has not been publicly identified.Ross Lee, a public information officer with the CHP, said the vehicle that killed the pedestrian did not remain at the scene.
